Message to all La Corda d’Oro readers

First off, I would like to apologise to the readers from MangaFox who were enjoying the english release of Chapter 63 before it was taken off the site.

Representing Kaito Zero, I asked the moderators to take down Chapter 63; which was uploaded by MangaFox member Dorawc, because of the following 2 reasons:

1. The absence of crediting to our partner Chinese Scanlation team, 琴音翻译组 who provides the scans for us at Kaito Zero to release the scans, and
2. Dorawc’s watermark, “Dorawc’s Translations” overlapping on Kaito Zero’s partner Chinese Scanlation team, 琴音翻译组’s watermark, as can be seen on an example of the scans below:

We hope all avid manga readers understand why scanlators are so particular about crediting and the territorial ownership of one’s scans. Credits is a form of acknowledgement for all the staff involved in any manga project, and considering we are all not getting paid to do this, this is the least one can do to acknowledge our efforts to bring you the mangas you so like.

Watermarks are often put onto scans as a form of credits to not just the scanlation team, but also to their scanner/raw provider who sacrifaced his/her time and money to buy and scan the manga pictures.

As such, we hope that La Corda d’Oro readers understand why we had to ask for the uploaded scans to be taken down; not because of the quality of translations and typesetting skills, but because we at Kaito Zero owe our partner Chinese Scanlation team, 琴音翻译组 the duty of protecting their hard work in scanning and providing the Chinese scans for us.

However, it is not impossible to release future English releases of any manga you would like to release. Translators can translate the chapter from any language you’re familiar with, but it would be best to release your english translations with the raw, Japanese scans free of any watermarks. But please remember to credit the scanner who scanned the Japanese raw scans.

We thank our readers for their kind understanding, and we hope to release La Corda d’Oro Chapter 63 and Chapter 64 (if the scans come to us on time) in time for White Valentine’s Day!
